RPP adopts 16-point plan, plans mass demonstration on December 9



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has approved a 16-point decision during a central executive committee meeting held Thursday at the party’s Dhumbarahi office, chaired by party Chair Rajendra Lingden.

The meeting extended the tenure of all party structures, including the central committee, by six months. The party will now hold its next general convention only after this period.

RPP has decided to meet Prime Minister Sushila Karki to share the party’s perspective on the current political situation.

In a move aimed at building new understanding among the former king, political parties, and the ongoing Gen-Z movement, RPP announced a large-scale demonstration in Kathmandu Valley on December 9.

The party also formed committees to manage nationwide assemblies and protests. The coordination committee includes senior vice chairs Buddhiman Tamang, Bikram Pandey, and Dhruva Bahadur Pradhan to foster collaboration with like-minded parties, campaigns, and individuals.

Additionally, disciplinary action was taken against Madhesh Province Assembly member Kanchan Bichchha, suspending her from general membership for six months and recalling her from the provincial assembly.

The meeting also welcomed former Bagmati Province Assembly Speaker Bhuvan Pathak back as general secretary and set up various committees to streamline party membership, election processes, and amendments to party bylaws.

RPP condemned the alleged arrests of activists involved in the Gen-Z movement and demanded their immediate release from unlawful detention.
