Home Ministry asks public to maintain peace during election preparations

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has appealed to all citizens and organizations to maintain peace, order, and security across the country.

In a press statement issued today, the Ministry emphasized that preliminary preparations for the upcoming general election have already begun. It called on everyone to ensure that assemblies, conferences, meetings, or protest programs are conducted peacefully, without violence, provocation, or disruption to others.

The Ministry noted that the interim government, formed on September 12 following the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, is focused on promoting national interest, good governance, and curbing corruption. The government, led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, is tasked with conducting the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.
