Finance Minister’s directive to prioritize and find solutions in financial sector

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has given directions to the bodies concerned to find solutions to the existing problems and to prioritize the work aspired to do institutionally for the liberalization of the financial sector.

In the meeting of the High-level Financial Sector Coordination Committee, Finance Minister Paudel said that although the economy is improving, it is necessary to prioritize the programmes and address problems of the regulatory bodies to increase their effectiveness.

In a meeting with officials and representatives of the National Planning Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank, Department of Cooperatives, Nepal Insurance Authority, Nepal Securities Board, Nepal Bankers Association, Company Registrar’s Office, the Finance Minister said that it will be easier to get results if we work on priorities.

The meeting had discussed the issue of economy, banks, cooperative, liquidity, loans and grants, among others.
