Prachanda’s secretariat denies reports of electoral alliance talks with RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: The secretariat of Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has strongly refuted media reports claiming that he proposed an electoral alliance with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Prachanda’s secretariat said its attention was drawn to false news published by some online media outlets and clarified that the reports were entirely untrue.

“Some online media have published false news claiming that NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ proposed an electoral alliance with RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane. This news is completely baseless,” the statement said.

The secretariat stressed that neither Prachanda nor any other party leader has held discussions with the RSP regarding electoral cooperation. It further clarified that no talks have taken place from the RSP side either on this matter.

Urging the public not to be misled, the secretariat appealed to all concerned to refrain from believing or spreading unverified and one-sided reports.

“We request everyone not to fall into the trap of such false news circulated without confirmation from the concerned parties,” the statement added.
