Devotees begin arriving for special Gosainkunda fair

RASUWA: Devotees have started arriving for the special Gosainkunda fair, which begins on May 27 and will continue until Ekadashi on June 7, according to the Gosainkunda Area Development Committee.

The committee expects around 5,000 devotees to participate in the fair and take a holy dip in the sacred Gosainkunda pond, situated at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level.

Pilgrims can reach Gosainkunda from Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, via the route passing through Tiwari Bagar, Khanti, Deurali, Dimsa, and Cholangpati.

According to Nepal Police, over 250 devotees affiliated with the Patanjali Yoga Committee, who had gathered for the Ganga Dussehra festival, departed for Gosainkunda this morning.

Gosainkunda is a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus, believed to be a must-visit destination at least once in a lifetime. A special fair is organized for 10 days during Ganga Dussehra and for five days during Janai Poornima.
