Nepal Police collects over Rs 524 million in revenue

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has amassed an impressive Rs 524.7 million in revenue within a single month while intensifying efforts to control various criminal activities across the country.

According to Nepal Police Central Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya, the revenue was collected in the last month, with the largest share coming from the implementation of court decisions.

Notably, Rs 239.2 million was generated from the arrest of absconding criminals alone, accounting for over 45 percent of the total revenue.

In addition, Rs 162.7 million was collected from the seizure of goods from customs clearance, while Rs 95.9 million was gathered through traffic operations.

Around Rs 10 million was obtained from the seizure of illegal gold and silver, and Rs 3.7 million from hundi transactions. Similarly, Rs 81 million was collected from undisclosed sources, Rs 2.2 million from the control of illegal riverine material extraction, Rs 891 thousand from the seizure of illegal timber, and Rs 1.5 million from the control of illegal livestock.

The significant revenue collection reflects Nepal Police’s proactive approach in enforcing law and order, alongside effective implementation of court decisions and stringent measures against illegal activities.
