KATHMANDU: In an effort to promote social harmony and maintain peace and security following the Sunsari incident, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has convened an all-party meeting, inviting all parties represented in the Federal Parliament as well as several other major political forces.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at 8:00 am today at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hall in Singha Durbar.
All political parties represented in the Federal Parliament have been invited to participate in the discussion. In addition, the RSP said that parties led by Upendra Yadav, Mahantha Thakur, and CK Raut have also been invited.
According to Lamichhane’s secretariat, invitation letters have been sent to all parties. Lamichhane has also personally contacted leaders of various parties and urged them to attend the meeting.
RSP General Secretary Bipin Acharya said the all-party discussion was organized because a common political message is needed to maintain social harmony as well as peace and security following the sensitive incident in Sunsari.
“We called this discussion because we felt there was a need for a collective political message and appeal, alongside ongoing administrative efforts, to maintain harmony and peace and security by minimizing the hatred that may spread socially in the wake of this extremely sensitive and tragic incident and the uneasy situation it has created,” Acharya said.
