RSP calls Secretariat and Central Committee meetings

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has convened meetings of its Secretariat and Central Committee following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the order to keep party Chair Rabi Lamichhane in detention.

The decision was made during an emergency virtual meeting of the party’s Secretariat.

The RSP has scheduled another Secretariat meeting for 3 PM today (Saturday), followed by a central committee meeting at 4 PM, both to be held virtually.

Additionally, the party has announced that the central committee will meet in person at the RSP central office at 2 PM on Sunday.

On Friday, the Supreme Court upheld the order issued by the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court to place Lamichhane in custody for trial.
