Gaur schools closed due to extreme cold

RAUTAHAT: Gaur Municipality in Rautahat has announced the closure of all community and institutional schools until Friday due to severe cold conditions persisting over the past four days.

Issuing a notice, the municipality said the decision was taken in view of disruptions to school activities and the potential health risks posed to children by the extreme cold. Chief Administrative Officer Subash Kumar Thakur stated that the holiday applies to all schools within the Gaur municipality area.

He added that the closure period will be adjusted from the scheduled rainy season holidays. The prolonged cold wave has significantly affected daily life in Rautahat, with normal activities disrupted across the district.
