Vietnamese Vice President arriving in Nepal today



KATHMANDU: Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, is arriving in Nepal today for a three-day official visit.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she will arrive in Kathmandu today at the friendly invitation of Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav.

Vice President Xuan will be visiting Nepal from August 23 to 25. This marks the first high-level visit from Vietnam, the Ministry stated.

During her visit, delegation-level bilateral talks between Vice President Yadav and Vice President Xuan are scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday), according to Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri.

Vice President Xuan is also scheduled to pay courtesy calls on other high-ranking officials of Nepal.

This visit holds special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam.

Vice President Xuan is scheduled to return home on August 25.
