UAE Deputy Prime Minister in Kathmandu; bilateral meeting scheduled for today



KATHMANDU: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening for a two-day official visit to Nepal.

He was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Ministry, Sheikh Abdullah is set to engage in a series of high-level political meetings during his stay in the capital.

A key agenda of the visit includes an official bilateral meeting between the UAE delegation and the Nepali delegation, which will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh.

The UAE delegation includes Ahmed Ali Mohamed Al Sayegh, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Rashed Alhajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs; and Abdulla Jarwan Alshamsi, UAE Ambassador to Nepal, along with other senior officials.

The delegation is scheduled to return to the UAE later this afternoon following the conclusion of the visit.
