Fire causes damage worth Rs 3.5 million



KATHMANDU: A fire that broke out in a house near Annapurna Temple in Asan, Ward No. 27 of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation has caused a loss of Rs 3.5 million, according to the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

The incident took place this afternoon when a fire broke out in a warehouse of electrical goods and utensils on the ground floor of a five-story concrete house of Sunil Tuladhar in Asan. It was reportedly due to a short circuit in the electrical wire during shutter welding, said Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson Purnima Kumari Chand.

Police with the help of two fire engines from Juddha Barun New Road and one from Lalitpur, extinguished the fire.
