Newly appointed ambassadors present credentials to President

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed ambassadors of Japan, Turkmenistan, the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos and the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nepal presented their credentials to President Ram Chandra Poudel.

In separate special ceremonies held at Rastrapati Bhawan today, newly appointed Ambassador Maeda Toru of Japan, Shalar Geldynazarov of Turkmenistan, Bounmy Vanmany of Laos and Dr Iraj Elahi of Iran presented their credentials to President Poudel.

Only Japanese Ambassador Toru is based in Kathmandu, while others are non-residential.

High-ranking officials of the government of Nepal were also present on the occasion, said the Spokesperson of the Office of the President, Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai.
