Youth will lead the new Nepal; the party will entrust responsibilities: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), has said that the youth are the true leaders of the new Nepal.

Speaking at the “NCP with Gen-Z” program held at the party headquarters in Parisdanda on Saturday, Dahal said that the party is holding extensive discussions on preparing youth ideologically, politically, and organizationally to lead the new Nepal.

“I see fresh dreams in the new generation. We must envision the youth as successors and hand over responsibilities. The youth must be prepared as leaders of the new Nepal, and the party will play its role in this,” Dahal said.

He added that the party would prioritize youth in party committees and elections.

“It is the responsibility of revolutionaries from the older generation to create an environment where more responsibilities are entrusted to the youth. We will soon take decisions towards that,” he said.

Dahal stated that Gen-Z’s initiative to end corruption and establish good governance has awakened a new consciousness among Nepalis worldwide. He said the Gen-Z movement has pushed everyone toward self-reflection.

He further noted that the reforms long raised by his party align with the demands made by Gen-Z, and that the movement has inspired a renewed commitment to acknowledge past mistakes and shortcomings and to adapt according to the sentiments of the youth.

NCP leader Jagannath Khatiwada said that his party is listening to the voice of the Gen-Z generation and acting accordingly. He stated that the party is moving forward with the youth’s aspiration to end corruption and establish good governance.

On the occasion, Gen-Z youth announced their entry into the Maoist party.
