Cloudy skies and scattered rain likely today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds.

Additionally, there is partial influence from moisture-laden winds originating in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, the weather remains partly to generally cloudy across the country, with light rain and lightning occurring in a few areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.

Conditions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the afternoon.

There is a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in isolated locations elsewhere.

Light snowfall with rain is also possible at one or two spots in the high hills and mountainous regions.

For tonight, the forecast indicates a chance of light to moderate rain with lightning in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
