Pathibhara Temple collects over Rs 13 million in offerings in six months

KATHMANDU: The Pathibhara Temple, one of Nepal’s most revered religious sites, has collected nearly Rs 13 million in cash offerings within the first six months of the current fiscal year 2024/25.

According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, the offerings were contributed by 106,623 devotees who visited the temple between mid-July 2024 and mid-January 2025.

The temple, dedicated to Goddess Pathibhara (Durga), is renowned for its spiritual significance, with many believing that the goddess fulfills devotees’ wishes.

Executive Director of the Committee, Prajin Hangbang, stated that the collected funds are being used for the preservation and management of the shrine.

Additionally, the funds are allocated for the development of infrastructure within the temple premises to accommodate the growing number of visitors, particularly during festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chaite Dashain.

Situated at an altitude of 4,000 meters, the Pathibhara Temple attracts devotees from across Nepal and beyond.

To enhance the visitor experience, the Committee is implementing service improvement plans, including the installation of drinking water facilities, upgrading trekking trails, planting trees, and establishing a tourist police post.

Construction of parking spaces and other amenities are also underway to support pilgrims and tourists.

These initiatives aim to preserve the sanctity of the site while ensuring the comfort and safety of the devotees visiting the temple.
