Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra set to become Health Minister

KATHMANDU: Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra has been finalized as the new Minister for Health, according to Gen-Z leader Anil Baniya, close to Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Baniya confirmed that Mahabir Pun has been selected as the Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, while Jagdish Kharel has been finalized for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Mishra previously served as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Health. She had expressed dissatisfaction after then-Health Minister Pradeep Paudel appointed Bikash Devkota as Health Secretary.

Following Paudel’s resignation during the Gen-Z movement on Bhadra 24, Mishra reached the ministry.

Earlier, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala and Dr. Sanduk Ruit had declined the health portfolio, after which Mishra was chosen as the third option.
