KUKL managing water supply in Kathmandu Valley from 13 ponds

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has set up a new water distribution network by utilizing ponds located at 13 different sites across the Kathmandu Valley.

Tika Bahadur Chaudhary, Chief of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project Implementation Directorate, stated that the new arrangement was designed to distribute water brought from the Melamchi River in Sindhupalchowk in a more balanced manner.

Additionally, provisions have been made for turbidity and chlorine testing, as well as regular quality checks for water at all the ponds.

In another development, KUKL has installed automatic electric meters at water taps in the Chamati and Anamnagar areas as part of a trial project.
