PRI and CNI sign MoU to collaborate on policy and industrial issues

KATHMANDU: The Policy Research Institute (PRI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on policy-making, industrial issues, and research-related areas.

The agreement aims to bridge the gap between the industrial sector and academia, enhancing policy formulation and economic development in Nepal.

The MoU was signed on Thursday by Prof. Dr. Lekhnath Sharma, Executive Chairman of PRI, and Ghanashyam Ojha, Director General of CNI. This partnership is expected to facilitate joint research, data production, and capacity-building initiatives.

PRI, a government think-tank dedicated to reviewing public policies and providing strategic recommendations, will work closely with CNI to address industrial concerns and contribute to policy development.

The collaboration aims to create a synergy effect in Nepal’s economy by ensuring coordinated policy drafting and implementation.

According to CNI Director General Ojha, the partnership will foster stronger ties between the industrial community and academic researchers, paving the way for evidence-based policymaking and sustainable economic growth.

The MoU marks a significant step towards enhanced coordination between policy research and industrial development, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing Nepal’s economic challenges through informed strategies and collaborative efforts.
