Ashika Tamang remanded in custody for five more days



KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has approved an additional five-day remand for the investigation of social activist Ashika Tamang.

Tamang was arrested on January 2 from Swayambhu on allegations of misbehavior towards employees of the Pashupati Area Development Trust and female police officers.

Following the expiration of her initial five-day remand on Monday, she was presented before the District Administration today.

The Police Circle Gaushala is leading the investigation into an alleged indecent assault case against Tamang.
