Journalism should be made a dignified profession: CM Shah

SUDURPASCHIM: Chief Minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah has emphasized the need to make journalism a dignified and respected profession.

Speaking at a two-day training program organized in Kanchanpur by the Federation of Nepali Journalists Sudurpaschim Province Committee for women journalists, CM Shah noted that journalism has reached its current state after enduring numerous challenges, and now deserves greater respect and support.

He also informed that the provincial government has allocated budget in the upcoming fiscal year—despite limited resources—for the construction of the National News Committee building, the implementation of a Journalist Capacity Building Program, the establishment of a revolving fund for the Martyr Dasharath Chand Memorial Journalism Award, and the development of a Nepal Television studio.
