Rabi Lamichhane forced to travel to Rupandehi via Chitwan due to bad weather

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane has been diverted to Chitwan after adverse weather conditions prevented flights from landing at Bhairahawa Airport in Rupandehi.

Lamichhane was scheduled to fly directly to Bhairahawa but, due to poor weather, he was flown from Kathmandu to Bharatpur instead. He will now travel to Rupandehi by road from Bharatpur.

Lamichhane had been waiting for a Bhairahawa-bound flight since 7:55 am. With weather conditions failing to improve, the travel plan was altered accordingly.

His wife, Nikita Paudel, is accompanying him. Upon reaching Bhairahawa and receiving the required release slip from the District Court, Lamichhane is expected to be formally released from custody.
