Baburam Bhattarai welcomes court order to release Rabi Lamichhane on bail

ATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the court order to release Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane on bail is welcome.

In a social media post, Dr Bhattarai said the court’s decision to proceed with the case while releasing Lamichhane on conditional bail is appropriate from the perspectives of the rule of law, political propriety and the interests of cooperative victims.

“The decision by the court to move the case forward while releasing him on conditional bail is welcome in terms of the rule of law, justice for cooperative victims and political appropriateness,” Bhattarai wrote.

He said the ruling provides Lamichhane an opportunity to prove his integrity through legal means and seek public endorsement by engaging directly with the people.

Dr Bhattarai further stated that the decision has also opened a lawful path for cooperative victims to seek redress for their grievances through the judicial process.
