Trailer of Nepali movie ‘Balidan’ released

KATHMANDU: The official trailer of the much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Balidan’ was released today, following the earlier launch of its poster, pre-teaser, teaser, and song.

The trailer highlights themes of patriotism and sacrifice, with actress Richa Sharma appearing in the emotional role of a mother. Actors Arpan Thapa, Saugat Malla, and Mahendra Budhathoki are featured in diverse and intense avatars, with Malla delivering a powerful dialogue about being forced to turn into a “demon.”

A dramatic confrontation between characters played by Sameer Bhatta and Saugat Malla is also prominently featured.

The previously released teaser includes visuals of Saugat Malla carrying a torch, a compelling dialogue by Hemanta Budhathoki, and a heart-wrenching question posed by Richa Sharma. Director Santosh Sen also makes an appearance as an indigenous character, adding intrigue to the teaser.

Director Sen has described ‘Balidan’ as more than just a movie—calling it “a symbol of rebellion in every Nepali’s heart.” The film’s title track, ‘Yo Jaan Balidan’, composed by Sujan Chapagain with lyrics by Harka Saud, has already gained significant popularity.

Produced under the banner of Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., the film stars Sameer Bhatta, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kabita Rai, Hemanta Budhathoki, and Prem Puri. Pawan Bradford Beast serves as producer, with Prem Puri as executive producer.

Balidan is scheduled for release on Phulpati of Bada Dashain (September 29).
