KATHMANDU: Although the monsoon system remains relatively weak across Nepal, moisture-laden air continues to enter the country from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The Division has stated that skies will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of the hills and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in isolated areas of the Terai in Madhes Province.
Additionally, there is a chance of heavy rainfall in one or two locations within the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki, and in parts of other provinces, while skies will be partly cloudy in the rest of the country.
Moderate rain is likely in parts of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, and in some hilly areas of other provinces. One or two locations in the Terai may also see light to moderate rainfall.
The Division has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province.
