Skywalk opens for tourists at Ainapahara in Tanahun

DAMAULI: A newly constructed skywalk has officially come into operation at Ainapahara, a scenic tourist destination in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 of Tanahun district.

Launched for commercial use on Friday, the skywalk is expected to boost tourism and offer visitors a unique and adventurous experience.

Constructed over a period of one and a half months, the 50-meter-tall and 57-meter-long overhead structure was built at a cost of Rs 1.5 million.

Visitors will be charged Rs 250 for an hour-long walk on the skywalk, which provides sweeping views of lush greenery and a tranquil natural environment.

“The structure was built with the aim of transforming Ainapahara into a major tourism hub,” said Shukra Chuman, chairperson of Abukhaireni Rural Municipality. “All necessary safety measures were ensured during construction.”

Local officials are optimistic that the skywalk will attract more visitors and contribute to the growth of adventure tourism in the area. “Walking on the skywalk offers a thrilling experience, making one feel as if they’re floating above nature,” said Chuman.

According to Ash Bahadur Gurung, chairperson of Abukhaireni-2, Ainapahara already draws more than 1,000 domestic tourists on Saturdays and public holidays. The local government has generated over six million rupees in revenue from the site to date.

To further enhance the site’s appeal, a park has also been built nearby, and a carving of Lord Ganesh on a rock near the Ainapahara waterfall has been added as a spiritual and cultural attraction.
