UML holding politburo meeting today as well

KATHMANDU: The Politburo meeting of the CPN-UML is being held today as well, following the decision made during Friday’s session to reconvene at 11 AM.

According to Rajendra Gautam, head of the UML Publicity Department, Friday’s meeting was chaired by party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and took place at the UML Central Office in Chyasal, Lalitpur. Eight members participated in the meeting.

Gautam stated that discussions centered on the reports to be presented at the upcoming statutory general convention.

Earlier, a Secretariat meeting held on Thursday endorsed several key documents: the political report by Chairman Oli, the statute amendment report by Vice President Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and the organizational report by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

Once approved by the Politburo, these reports will be finalized at the Central Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, July 21.

The second statutory general convention of the UML is set to take place in Godavari, Lalitpur, on September 5, 6, and 7.
