LMC Mayor Maharjan calls for exchange of good practices among municipalities

LALITPUR: Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan has highlighted the importance of coordination among municipalities to share effective practices and strengthen local governance.

Speaking at a discussion with the representatives of Sharda Municipality from Salayan district—currently in a sister-city relationship with Lalitpur—Mayor Maharjan said municipalities should learn from each other’s successes to drive prosperity.

“It is the duty of an economically prosperous municipality to support other municipalities,” he said, adding that Lalitpur Metropolitan City has remained people-centered by prioritizing local concerns and solving community problems.

Sharda Municipality Mayor Prakash Bhandari, while praising Lalitpur’s developmental efforts, expressed frustration at being unable to implement similar projects due to budget limitations.
