KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) MP Deepak Bahadur Singh has urged leaders of republican parties not to panic over the monarchy.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, Singh made this appeal.

He emphasized that the former king has not hindered protests or rallies in the streets since the establishment of the republic, and he called on those in power to take notice.

“In the two decades since the republic was established, the king has not interfered with the government’s ability to hold protests or carry out any actions. So why is there panic now? Why is everyone so anxious?” he said.

“I feel like even those who are indecisive are now turning in the same direction. There is no need to panic. Don’t panic, we will build the country together.”

Singh added that the former king has periodically called on the government to improve governance and provide relief to the people.

However, he noted that as the government showed no signs of improvement, the king urged unity to save the nation and its people on the occasion of Democracy Day.
