RSP holds discussion with former police officials on police bill

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) held an interaction with former high-ranking officials of the Nepal Police on Wednesday.

The discussion, held at the Nepal Police Club in Exhibition Road, involved RSP lawmakers and former police officials deliberating on the proposed Nepal Police Bill currently tabled in the federal parliament.

RSP parliamentary deputy leader Biraj Bhakta Shrestha stated that the party is conducting an in-depth study of the bill. “We are thoroughly analyzing the Nepal Police Bill. Our approach is to engage in discussions based on facts and truth before forming a stance,” he told Khabarhub. “We are also consulting other experts, and former senior police officials have provided valuable suggestions.”

The discussion was attended by former high-ranking Nepal Police officials, including Prakash Aryal, Kamal Singh Bam, Kedar Saud, Bijay Lal Kayastha, Bam Bahadur Bhandari, and Surendra Shah.

RSP lawmakers present at the event included Dr. Chanda Karki, Manish Jha, Sumana Shrestha, Ganesh Parajuli, Ashok Chaudhary, Laxmi Tiwari, and Bindabasini Kansakar. Additionally, staff from the party’s secretariat involved in drafting amendments to the bill were also in attendance.
