10-year action plan for tourism development on the cards



MALEKHU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the government was working on the preparations for the 10-year action plan for tourism development the country to achieve economic prosperity.

Addressing a programme in Dhading district on Saturday, Minister Pandey said the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is preparing the action plan with coordination from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Finance Ministry, Law Ministry and other stakeholders.

Minister Pandey said that the Ministry was always ready to collaborate with the private sector for the development of tourism sector, stating that the private sector has a crucial role in the development of this sector.

We are working to revitalize our cultural and civil aviation sectors as we have opportunities to bring in millions of tourists, he elaborated.

Minister Pandey, who is also the Nepali Congress assistant secretary general, said that the current coalition of the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) was formed to ensure good-governance, end corruption and maintain stability to the government.
