Lalitpur Metropolitan celebrates 107th foundation day

LALITPUR: Lalitpur Metropolitan City marked its 107th foundation day on Wednesday with a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, and other dignitaries.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Karki said, “Our focus is currently on good governance and the upcoming elections. We are eager to transfer power to a government that reflects the people’s aspirations. I urge everyone to contribute from their respective positions to ensure that the elections are conducted in a low-cost, clean, fair, and fear-free environment. Elections remain the only option to move the country forward in accordance with the constitution, democratic norms, and good governance.”

She said there is no room for anarchy in society, asserting that security agencies are capable and active in controlling unlawful and criminal activities that disrupt peace. Karki also called for collective efforts to resist negative elements and maintain public order.
