UML General Convention: Voting to elect new leadership begins

KATHMANDU: Voting at the 11th general convention of the CPN-UML has officially begun at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.

General Secretary Shankar Pokharel stated that the voting, originally scheduled for Tuesday evening, was postponed following discussions between presidential candidates KP Sharma Oli and Ishwor Pokharel. The process, initially planned for Tuesday afternoon, had already been delayed several times.

Electronic voting machines are being used for the election. The convention has a total of 2,263 delegates, and technicians estimate that it will take approximately 30 minutes for each delegate to cast their vote.
