Madhav Nepal pays tribute to those who lost their lives in Gen-Z protests

KATHMANDU: Chair of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, paid tribute to all those who lost their lives during the Gen-Z protests.

In a condolence statement released on Wednesday, Chair Nepal expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of all those injured in the protests.

Recalling his party’s support and solidarity with the demands of the Gen-Z movement at the time, he criticized the then-government’s arrogance and ego for causing widespread loss of life and property instead of addressing legitimate demands.

The statement further noted, “This incident must be understood as a result of public frustration and anger arising from the failure to establish a transparent and accountable governance system. The gap between leaders and people, corruption, mismanagement, unemployment, youth migration, and reluctance to pursue socio-economic transformation all contributed to this situation.”

Chair Nepal emphasized that his party remains committed to collaboration and cooperation with all political parties, civil society, state, and private sector actors.
