CPN-UML holding Secretariat meeting today



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML is holding a meeting of its Secretariat to discuss preparations for the party’s upcoming legislative general convention.

The meeting will take place at 1 PM at the party’s central office in Chyasal, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli, according to Rajendra Gautam, head of the UML Publicity and Publication Department.

The agenda includes reviewing various organizational matters and finalizing plans for the legislative general convention. Party Vice-Chair Bishnu Prasad Poudel is expected to present draft proposals for amending the party’s statute. Poudel has been serving as the coordinator of the statute amendment committee.

Today’s meeting will also discuss the political report to be presented by Chairman Oli and the organizational report to be submitted by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

In addition, the meeting will set the agenda for the upcoming Politburo meeting scheduled for Friday (July 18) and the Central Committee meeting on July 21.

Gautam also mentioned that a review of the government’s performance over the past year will be part of today’s discussions.
