KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has issued a public notice requesting journalist Dil Bhusan Pathak to report to the Cyber Bureau or the nearest police station at the earliest.
The Cyber Bureau made the request on Tuesday, asking Pathak to assist in an ongoing investigation. A warrant had previously been issued against him on charges of cybercrime. However, on Monday, the Patan High Court issued a short-term interim order directing authorities not to arrest him.
The case stems from a YouTube report by Pathak that alleged investment by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba’s son, Jaiveer, in Hilton Hotel. The Deuba family subsequently filed a complaint against him with the Cyber Bureau.
