Six DIGs recommended for promotion to AIG



KATHMANDU: Six Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police have been recommended for promotion to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

The recommendation was made during a meeting of the Promotion Committee held on Thursday under the leadership of the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The committee selected six DIGs from the district police group for promotion.

Those recommended for the top police position are Chandrakuber Khapung, Lalmani Acharya, Krishnahari Sharma Pokharel, Dan Bahadur Karki, Rajan Adhikari, and Manoj Kumar KC.

Khapung is currently serving at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Lazimpat, while Acharya is the Chief of the Madhesh Province Police Office in Janakpur. Pokharel is stationed at the Bagmati Province Police Office in Hetauda.

Karki is working at the Lumbini Province Police Office in Tulsipur, Adhikari at the Koshi Province Police Office in Biratnagar, and KC at the National Police Training Academy in Maharajgunj.

The recommendation will now be forwarded for final approval by the Council of Ministers.
