DAILEKH: An 11-year-old boy was murdered in Dailekh over a dispute related to the sale of stolen gold ornaments.

Police have arrested two teenagers, aged 14 and 17, from Dullu Municipality for their involvement in the crime.

According to District Police Chief Sunil Dahal, the investigation revealed that the boy was killed on February 7 and buried in a ditch on the bank of a river near his house. The victim had been reported missing, and his relatives had filed a complaint with the Area Police Office, Dullu.

During the investigation, police initially questioned the friends who were last seen with him. However, a breakthrough came when the two arrested teenagers were interrogated on Saturday.

They confessed to murdering the boy after a dispute over selling stolen gold ornaments (tilhari). The duo admitted to burying the body near a river close to their home.

Following their statement, police conducted a search and found the boy’s body buried in the ditch. The Dailekh District Police Office has confirmed that both teenagers are currently being held at the police juvenile detention center as further investigation continues.
