Two arrested with 121 kg of hashish in Makwanpur



MAKWANPUR: Police have arrested two people with 121 kilograms and 466 milligrams of hashish from an auto-rickshaw heading towards Markhu from Taukhel in Thaha Municipality–10, Makwanpur.

According to District Police Office Makwanpur spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, the suspects were taken into custody along with the vehicle on charges of drug trafficking. Those arrested are 21-year-old Sanu Kanchha Thing of Kailash Rural Municipality–5, Makwanpur, and 29-year-old auto-rickshaw driver Ghanashyam Bal Lama of Thaha Municipality–4.

Bogati said a joint police team deployed from Palung and Chitlang intercepted the auto-rickshaw bearing registration number Ba Pra 03001 Ha 1507 and recovered the contraband hidden inside 12 rubber containers kept in the vehicle.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
