House of Representatives to discuss key bills and reports today

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives under the federal parliament is set to convene today at 1 pm at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor, with several crucial bills and reports on the agenda.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present the Sixth and Seventh Annual Reports of the National Security Council for the years 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire will propose a general discussion on the Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, seeking approval for deliberation.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is scheduled to present a proposal for a general discussion on the Nepal Police Bill, 2024. Additionally, Prime Minister Oli will table a proposal to discuss the Prevention of Corruption (First Amendment) Bill, 2018, which originated in the National Assembly.

This discussion will also include the report from the State Administration and Good Governance Committee.

A proposal to pass the Prevention of Corruption (First Amendment) Bill, 2018, is also on the agenda, marking an important step in legislative efforts to strengthen anti-corruption measures in the country.
