KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has asserted that roads constructed by the Department of Roads are entirely free of potholes.
Speaking at the launch event of an electric bus service operated by Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd., the minister urged citizens to inform him directly if they find any potholes on such roads.
“The roads built by our department don’t have potholes. If you find any, let me know,” Dahal said, adding that the condition of roads within Kathmandu could be the responsibility of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) rather than the federal ministry.
To help distinguish responsibilities, Dahal noted that electric poles along federally managed roads are marked with the initials “S.B.” (Sadharan Bibhag).
He acknowledged public confusion over road ownership in the capital and urged clarity on which authority is accountable for maintenance.
