Finance Minister Khanal holds series of high-level meetings in Washington DC



WASHINGTON DC: Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, who is currently in Washington DC to attend the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, participated in a series of meetings and discussions on Monday and Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Minister Khanal met with U.S. Deputy Trade Representative Brian Switzer to discuss bilateral trade relations and tax policies. According to the Nepali Embassy in Washington, the meeting was productive and included officials from both Nepal and the United States.

Also on Tuesday, Minister Khanal held talks with Abdul Rahman Al Marsad, Chairman of the Saudi Fund for Development, focusing on ongoing and future development cooperation between Nepal and the Saudi Fund.

Earlier in the week, Minister Khanal also engaged in discussions with representatives of various international organizations working in partnership with Nepal on development initiatives.

Nepal’s Ambassador to the United States, Lokdarshan Regmi, embassy officials, members of the minister’s delegation, and other staff were present during the meetings.
