Woman injured in elephant attack dies



DAMAK: A woman from Damak Municipality-1, Jhapa, who was injured in a wild elephant attack, has died.

46-year-old Sunita Rai, who was attacked while taking a morning walk on the road in Bargachhi, Damak-1, around 4:30 am on July 27, passed away this morning at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar during treatment.

Sunita and her sister, Kabita Rai, were both injured in the attack at around 4:15 am. According to Police Inspector Navin Rai of the Damak Police Office, they were initially treated at Damak Hospital before being referred to Biratnagar. Kabita Rai is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
