KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred five joint secretaries, including appointments to key posts at the Department of Immigration and the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Immigration Office.
Ram Chandra Tiwari has been appointed the new Director General of the Department of Immigration. Narahari Ghimire has been assigned to head the Immigration Office at TIA.
Following Tiwari’s transfer to the Immigration Department, Govinda Prasad Rijal has been brought into the Home Ministry.
Meanwhile, former TIA Immigration Chief Bishnu Prasad Koirala has been recalled to the ministry, with Ghimire replacing him at the airport. Ghimire was previously serving as the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Khotang, and had earlier worked as the spokesperson of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
Additionally, joint secretary Kalpana Shrestha has been transferred to Khotang as the new CDO.
