Wooden bridge construction begins in Maiwakhola through labor donation



TALEJUNG: A wooden bridge construction project has begun in Maiwakhola Rural Municipality in Taplejung through a public labor donation campaign.

Temporary motorable wooden bridges are being built over the Neruwa Khola and Mangmaya Khola in Sanghu, Maiwakhola-4, with active community participation and leadership from rural municipality chairman Bijay Prakash Banem, according to the municipality office.

Chairman Banem stated that labor worth around Rs 350,000 is being donated for the construction of the bridge over the Neruwa Khola.

A vacuum loader, tractor, and other essential materials will be provided by the rural municipality, while the rest will be contributed through labor donations.

Similarly, a temporary bridge over the Mangmaya Khola is being constructed through labor contributions valued at approximately Rs 150,000.

Chairman Banem said the initiative was launched to address the transportation difficulties faced by locals during the rainy season. The bridges are being built to ensure both pedestrians and vehicles can pass safely.

The municipality has been running labor donation campaigns with participation from local residents, tole development committees, and youth groups to support such community infrastructure projects.
