Land ownership certificates distributed to unorganized settlers of Kohalpur



BANKE: Land ownership certificates (Lalpurja) have been handed over to 86 unorganized settlers of Ward No. 1 in Kohalpur Municipality, who have been living there for years, according to Ghanath Khanal, Chairman of the Land Problem Resolution Commission District Committee.

“We are committed to making unorganized settlers and squatters rightful landowners,” said Chairman Khanal. “We are working diligently to meet the hopes and expectations entrusted to us.”

The Commission has announced plans to distribute Lalpurja to an additional 774 unorganized settlers of Kohalpur-1 starting from 16 Asad.

Kohalpur Municipality Mayor Purna Prasad Acharya stated that the municipality remains fully prepared to provide necessary support and coordination to resolve land-related issues.

Banke Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi emphasized the importance of responsible cooperation from local authorities, people’s representatives, and political parties to support the Commission’s work.

So far, the Land Problem Resolution Commission District Committee has distributed land ownership certificates to 117 landless Dalits and squatters in Kohalpur Municipality-1.

Chairman Khanal added that efforts are being carried out systematically to address land issues in Kohalpur, Baijnath, Khajura, Janaki, Rapti Sonari, and Narainapur rural municipalities of Banke district.

He urged field technicians to provide necessary assistance and coordination while avoiding involvement in minor disputes.
