Good governance and efficient service delivery prerequisites for prosperity: President

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has emphasized that promoting good governance and ensuring agility in service delivery are essential steps toward achieving national prosperity.

He stated that overcoming injustices and obstacles on the path to development must be the nation’s foremost priority.

In a message of best wishes issued on the occasion of the New Year 2082 BS, President Poudel urged all citizens to make a firm commitment to this goal.

“On this special day, I call upon everyone to unite with enthusiasm for the progress and prosperity of the nation and to move forward with a shared resolve,” he said.

Highlighting the cultural significance of the Bikram Sambat, the President described it as a “Shaurya Sambat,” rooted in ancient Hindu tradition and Vedic chronology.

He noted that this calendar, deeply ingrained in the nation’s history and social fabric, reflects Nepal’s rich civilization, heritage, and traditions—serving both as a reminder of our glorious past and as inspiration for a prosperous future.

“Nepalis regard the New Year as a meaningful time to reflect on the past and make resolutions for the future,” the President remarked.

“It is our tradition to set life goals on significant festivals and days, and to stay committed to fulfilling them throughout our lives. In that spirit, the New Year is an opportunity to set a unified national goal and pledge to achieve it together.”
