Prachanda will take party forward: Narayan Kaji Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Senior Vice Chair of the CPN (Maoist Center), Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has acknowledged the challenges of factionalism and individualism within the party, stating that these issues will be addressed through an ongoing transformation campaign.

Speaking at an event in Chitwan on Friday, Shrestha admitted that internal disputes persist but assured that the party is committed to resolving them.

He said that the transformation campaign initiated by Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will continue without interruption and that the Maoists will move forward in a unified manner.

Shrestha reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthening its internal structure and positioning itself as a leading force in the country’s economic development. He expressed confidence that under Dahal’s leadership, the Maoist Center would evolve into a more consolidated and effective political entity.

While refraining from commenting on the government’s activities, Shrestha remarked that the public is already aware of the current state of governance. However, he praised Bharatpur Mayor Renu Dahal, highlighting her contributions to the city’s development, which he described as revolutionary.

Shrestha’s remarks come amid growing concerns about internal rifts within the Maoist party, as factional divisions and leadership struggles have surfaced in recent months.

The transformation campaign, he said, aims to not only resolve these internal conflicts but also to prepare the party for a more decisive role in national politics.
