Election excitement rises among new voters in Baitadi

BAITADI: Enthusiasm among new voters in Baitadi is growing ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026.

According to the District Election Office, voter registration with photographs has been encouraging since the update and collection process began on September 25.

So far, 618 new names have been added to the list, including 201 women and 417 men, said Ratan Chand, the office’s computer operator.

Acting Chief Purushottam Joshi informed that an additional nine individuals—two women and seven men—from outside districts have also registered. Previously, Baitadi had 161,312 registered voters, comprising 82,126 men, 79,184 women, and two transgender individuals.

Eligible citizens can register online through the Election Commission’s website (www.election.gov.np) by filling out the form, printing it, and visiting the district office to provide a photograph and fingerprint.

The District Election Office has urged those who have not yet registered to do so promptly. Nepali citizens aged 16 and above can register their names, although only those 18 and older are eligible to vote.
