Thai Lion Air flight diverted to Lucknow after missed approach at TIA

KATHMANDU: A Thai Lion Air flight bound for Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) was diverted to Lucknow, India, after it was unable to land in Kathmandu due to a missed approach.

According to officials at the TIA, flight number TLM 220, which had departed from Bangkok, Thailand, could not land as expected and was rerouted to Lucknow.

A missed approach typically occurs when a pilot determines that the aircraft is not fully aligned or prepared for a safe landing. In such cases, standard aviation protocol allows the pilot to overshoot the runway and either attempt another landing or divert the flight for safety.
